[Loadstone] How to open osm file if larger than 2 mb

Hi there

I found a site with osm files on it for new zealand and australia.  and 
have unzipped itto get to the file then I went up to the site to convert 
it.  I think I read on the site it will only do a 2mb file is there one 
that will open one if its about  45 meg or so?
Or a programme that will convert it to the loadstone format if I can get in.
any help would be greatful
