Hi guys. Yes Jacob what i do is to load maps first and then use the menue key to get it in the background. If it keeps running and you then load and use loadstone loadstone's signal quality improves and it looses signal less often. As for the n95 loosing signal when the slide is closed i've never encountered that problem. I dont say though that that couldn't be a hardware problem. Although as far as the activation of your internal gps not activating is concerned it is software related. What you guys must also try is to set the phones internal gps as the only available gps for the phone. And also set the wha echoes function in loadstone to unchanged. That improves pick up time on the internal reciever. Go and take a look at the manual again. The loadstone manual is full of tips but you need to studdy it a few times and work through it a few times to get results. I a mapping johannesburg at this point in time and i still learn every day what works and what doesn't. I for example have no clue yet how to upload a database or how to get hold of a osm file for south africa.

Do you run nokia maps and loadstone at the same time?

As in start nokia maps, and then hit something like hang up key to put it in
background, or just enter menu system and start loadstone, so they're both
running at same time?

If this makes GPS accuracy better will have to try it out on my N82, since
currently just start nokia maps first, wait a bit and kill it after it's
definitely activated the GPS internal unit and then start loadstone.

Stay well

Not true, I still receive a signal with the slide closed. Put it back in my holster with the bottom facing upwards and can walk and listen.

I've had this phone and you need to keep the phone slid open for it to catch a GPS signal. If you have an external receiver then you can close the slide. This is why I use to use an external receiver with this phone.

I never used N95, but I heart that it's gps receiver is of very poor quality. Sometimes it's not even able to catch signal through one hour.
But that may not be true, maybe someone will oppose me.

         Hi all,
A friend of mine wanted to try the loadstone using the internal gps from his n95 8gb phone. When I clicked the find gps options, I got two different options, and whatever I click I get the no signal message. Also, by pressing the number 7 on the key pad I get the information that there are 0 of 4 satelites, sot he signal is very low. So do someone of you use loadstone with nokia n95 successfully? If so, what we need to set to be able to use gps properly? Or is it just because the phone's receiver is of the low quality?
Thanks so much in advance for the help, my friend will apreciate it!
