[Loadstone] Anyone used the breadcrumb generator?

Has anyone used the breadcrumb generator? Or can anyone tell me of an easy
way to accomplish where I can have someone walk a route with me, and I can
have Loadstone keep track of, for example, when we pause to cross a street,
when we turn, etc? I get the possibility of making a NMEA log file or
something, but not sure how to use it really. It seemed kind of confusing.
