All receivers that are assisted use data from an external source;
This is either cell information or aditional calculations made by a base
station on scattered satelite fragments.
This data is allways external and requires the assisted gps device to
communicate with an external source at all times when it is assisted and
thereby using data charges or volume.
No external data feed, no assisted gps.
Assisted gps can not work without communicating with an external entity, it
is up to your provider and phone what that entity is and whether or not you
pay for the priverlidge.
Regards, Kerry.

Subject: [Loadstone] Assisted GPS and data usage
Does assisted GPS use data if it is built into or downloaded on a receiver?
I am not clear on that point.
Thank You,
Mike Hanson
