[Loadstone] Implementing Breadcrumb Generator

Hello,

I'd like to propose some ideas for implementing the Breadcrumb generator into Loadstone program:

- Insert menu "Logging" below menu "GPS", where you can find the following options:

-- "Load nmea file" - opens a .log file

(An interface as in loading database or checkpoints, from the menu Database/Add

database / menu Checkpoints/Load checkpoints);

-- "Save as checkpoints" - exports the loaded NMEA file as a checkpoint file .ckp

(An interface as in saving checkpoints, from menu Checkpoints/Save checkpoints);

-- "Save as database" - exports the loaded NMEA file as a database file .ldb

(An interface as in exporting checkpoints as a database, from the menu Checkpoints/Export);

-- "Reversed checkpoints" - exports the loaded NMEA file as a checkpoint file .ckp, in a reversed point order

(An interface as in saving checkpoints, from menu Checkpoints/Save checkpoints);

-- "Reversed database" - exports the loaded NMEA file as a database file .ldb, in a reversed point order

(An interface as in exporting checkpoints as a database, from the menu Checkpoints/Export);

-- "Send" - allows for sending the NMEA file via MMS/Bluetooth/E-mail

(An interface as in sending database or checkpoints, from the menu Database/Send

/ menu Checkpoints/Send);

-- "ROute settings" - see Note 2.

- Insert an additional tab "ROute" in the Loadstone settings, before the "Sound Settings" tab;

there you can find the following options:

-- Interval

(Parameters: 8 seconds, 16 seconds, 32 seconds, 64 seconds

(where "8 seconds" by default);

-- Accuracy

(Parameters: within 12 meters, within 24 meters, within 48 meters

(where "Within 12 meters" by default);

-- Turns

(Parameters: all turns, above 10 degrees, above 20 degrees, above 30 degrees

(Where "Above 20 degrees" by default);

-- Verbosity

(Parameters: on / off

(where "On" by default);

-- Comment language

(Parameters: phone language, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Polish

(where "Phone Language" by default).

- Note 1:

While saving a route as a database or checkpoint file, the default filename is the same as in the .log file;

only a file extension changes, and also the folder in which a converted file will be saved

(namely .ldb - into importexport, and .ckp - into checkpoints folder).

- Note 2:

Menu GPS/route settings would open "ROute" tab in LS main settings, but as the only available list of settings.

- Note 3:

If a route was created "on the fly", and followed on the basis of a NMEA file only, it would even be the better.

What do you think about this kind of "design"?

I'm ready to pay an amout of money, even from my own private pocket,

if only someone created Symbian functionalities

that I've been dreaming about for three years,

that I find the most necessary, vital and crucial for the blind GPS user,

and that are - as for now - not available in any navigation solution

(neither hardware nor software).

The point is, that the user could record the whole passed track as a route, reverse this route if he got lost, and of course could follow the same route in a future.

Best regards,

Przemyslaw
