[Loadstone] Choosing the units, esp. nautical

Hello,
I'd like to make sure:
What units should be reported after I've set speed and distance units to nautical?
Is it correct that LS reports the distance to a nearest point in yards instead of in nautical miles?
By the way: Is it an inconsequence or sth done on purpose that for setting speed unit you make a choice according to names of the units (kilometers per hour, miles per hour, knots), while for setting distance and altitude unit you make a choice according to types of the units (metric, imperial, nautical), and not according to names of the units?
