[Loadstone] converting 3gb file

Your suggestions are valuable.
We are coming into an experimental phase and will see how all works.
I have a program that can save all the POIs containing a specified string of characters (eg. city name) to a separate file. That should help.
A good idea would be to make separate databases for different provinces.

You do realize the name field is only 75 characters long? Trying to put all
that information in the name probably isn't going to work very well. It'll
also result in a lot of output when announcing the point names. If you want
things sorted by category you might be better off putting each category in
its own database. You could also do this for each city, that way you can
load just the data you need at the time rather than the entire country.

I would be happy to do the conversion for you if you send me the osm file. I would need the file to be in a windows compatible format rather than Linux.
