The support of GPS systems with receivers are not tied to a particular brand but rather to a particular chipset. The Holux GPSlim236 and GPSlim240 have similar specification and are both using the Sirf Star III chipset. The difference in these two recievers beside the model number is that the 240 is the size of a stick of gum as compared to the 236 which is about the size of a pager. The 240 doesn't perform as well as the 236 due to its size, the multi-path, drift and TTF are worst than the 236 due to the smaller size. I personally would get the Holumx M-1000 which is using the latest MTK chipset. Shortley after the M-1000 was released Holux decided to make another receiver the size of a stick of gum and they are calling that the M1200. I think taht the M1200 may perform better than the 236 or 240.

  Hi all,

Does Loadstone support any of the Holux GPSlim series receivers like the GPSlim 236 or 240? If anyone is using one of these, can you please comment on its performance?
