Hi Cearbhall,

For the moment I'm only interested in the usability of the OSM data. If it's
decided that it's usable we can 'improve' the presentation of the name
field. There's a debugged version of the OpenStreetMap converter up since
this morning, so please reprocess yesterdays data if you want to help
testing.

Rob,

Jacob has raised a good point here. There is a solution that seems to make
sense, that is to add the elevation value from the source in GeoNames to the
POI name.

I have a routine that adds an increment to the place name as a percentage of
the start of the street. This caused a logical problem for those who want to
make sense of the information.

Ok.

Well worked fine now and imported 511 entries into the database (also
created a new test one for this process), but only real issue (and not
related to LoadStone at all) is that most of the points seem to be different
points on the same streets so if I choose something like show area, it
mentions the same streets around 10 times, but at slightly differing
distances, and apart from those I have only found two more relevant entries
in the form of one kindergarten, and one restaurant (but with no name).

Anyway, will carry on testing this set of POIs, but anyway...

Stay well
