[Loadstone] Exploring Question

If I try to explore a database without a GPS receiver connected, I get "not 
connected."  If I edit my last position file to allow me to work with data 
for the Appalachian Trail, won't connecting a GPS receiver throw everything 
off?  Loadstone might recognize the GPS receiver's current position as my 
location.  Can I explore a database without being connected to a GPS 
receiver?  If so, how?
