What does it mean when you create a point then save it, and it gives the 2
choices of, from commencement, and use current? I don't understand what they
mean.
Thanks.

Hi Jim,

That's correct. But if you mark the points for that route, then save it. All
you have to do, is load that route file before you travel that route and the
points will be announced. I believe this is a good feature as you can pick
and choose the routs you need, when you need them. This gives great
flexibility.

If your travelling that route with friends and you don't need the alerts,
they will not go off unless you have first loaded that route file. If we
were to have points auto-announced, perhaps we could have an option where
you could toggle on or off the loading of a specified file.

Cheers,
Brett.

Yes, but to have it alert me when I am near the point you have to go into
exploration mode, mark the point and add it to your points file. Unless I am
misunderstanding.

If I understand what you want to do, don't you just press the pound key.
Then you name the point. That is what I have been doing to make a knew
point.
